There is criticism among general practitioners about the rewards for corona vaccinations.

20 euros are earmarked for each syringe.

However, this does not necessarily cover the costs for staff and practice rooms.

Employees are also tied up if, for example, agreed appointments have to be postponed because less vaccine is being delivered than planned.

The Baden-Württemberg Association of Statutory Health Insurance Physicians and the Ministry of Social Affairs are aware of the displeasure.

"But we don't have an overview of how many doctors don't offer vaccinations because of this," said a spokesman for the Association of Statutory Health Insurance Physicians.

"According to our knowledge, it is likely to be the exception that a family doctor's practice does not offer a vaccination." It is not possible to say whether these practices will decide against it because of the remuneration or for other reasons.

The Baden-Württemberg General Practitioner Association also says it has no knowledge of whether some general practitioners do not offer a vaccination because of the money.

A spokesman for the Ministry of Social Affairs in Stuttgart said: "We are aware of the displeasure of some doctors about it." However, the addressee for these complaints is the federal government, which reimburses the vaccinations through the resident practices and the same amount for the company doctors in the Corona - vaccination regulation.

Doctors receive a fee of 20 euros for each corona vaccination, including information and advice.

The vaccines come through the federal government.

Billing is carried out by the statutory health insurance associations - regardless of whether for those with statutory or private insurance.

The federal government bears the costs and has initially budgeted up to 1.5 billion euros.

The situation is different in the vaccination centers.

Here the vaccines come via the country, which also pays the costs for the operation.

The central vaccination centers, which are responsible for several districts, receive up to 1.5 million euros per month, according to the ministry.

The operators of the communal vaccination centers are contractually agreed to provide up to 755,000 euros per month.

In addition, the state provides the IT equipment.

The hourly wage is staggered

Among other things, the employees have to be paid from the money, as a spokesman said.

The hourly wage is staggered: Doctors receive 130 euros gross per hour for their work in the vaccination centers in Baden-Württemberg.

For medical assistants up to 50 euros per hour are paid, all other employees - for example in administration - receive up to 27.60 euros hourly wages.

According to the ministry, a maximum of 138 employees can be billed in a central vaccination center per day.

The spokesman warned that the amounts could not be converted into costs per vaccination. Billing is not based on the number of vaccinations, but on the costs actually incurred and necessary for the operation of the vaccination center. When it comes to the doctors' fees, it is also important to consider, for example, that some of them have to close their own practice while they are working in the centers - so they have no income here, but still have running costs, for example for renting a room.

Costs also play a role in in-house vaccinations. A pilot project for vaccinations for company doctors started at the end of April at the crane manufacturer Liebherr in Ehingen (Alb-Donau district). For the technical director of the Liebherr plant there, Ulrich Hamme, the company's own vaccination center is a worthwhile investment. Daily rapid tests are very expensive and in the long run would be more expensive for the company than vaccinating the workforce themselves in a timely manner.
