Düsseldorf (dpa / lnw) - The downward trend in new corona infections reported in North Rhine-Westphalia has continued.

The seven-day incidence nationwide was 103.4 on Thursday, according to the Robert Koch Institute (RKI).

On Thursday, the number indicating the number of new infections per 100,000 inhabitants within seven days was 111.4.

The last time the NRW average was below the threshold of 100, which is decisive for the federal emergency brake, was 99.6 on March 22nd.

In 27 of the 53 counties and urban districts, the seven-day incidence has now fallen below this value, which allows, among other things, the opening of outdoor restaurants.

Only Hagen (215.7) and Leverkusen (184.5) are above the value of 165, from which there may be no face-to-face teaching in schools.

Münster had the lowest value on Friday at 35.5.

According to the data, 2474 new infections were reported in NRW within one day.

Last Friday there were 4094 new infections.

The number of deaths related to the coronavirus rose by 20 to 16,190.
