Jena (dpa / th) - A leaked bottle of oil while cooking triggered a large-scale operation by the fire brigade and police on Ascension Day in Jena.
Because of a cloud of smoke over an apartment building, a roof fire was reported in the evening, the police said on Friday.
The fire brigade and police moved in with all available forces.
They evacuated the house, stopped trams and set up barriers for fire fighting.
At the scene of the event, the supposed fire turned out to be a kitchen breakdown.
A man had cooked in his apartment.
A bottle of oil overturned on the stove and led to a brief deflagration with a thick cloud of smoke.
Nobody was injured and the mission ended after 45 minutes.
