She also says that the county has a large number of loyal blood donors, but the need for blood in healthcare has increased.

- In 2020, there was a greater blood consumption than the year before.

We can state that more patients are in need of blood, says Ida Norrström.

All blood groups

There is no shortage of any particular blood group, but the need is the same in all blood groups.

- There is always a very great need for the two most common blood groups, A positive and 0 positive, but there is a great need for all blood groups.

During the corona pandemic, blood activities work according to the Swedish Public Health Agency's advice and recommendations.

Blood donors should feel healthy at the time of blood donation.

In the case of a cold, it must have been at least two weeks since the last cold symptom before blood donation.
