A young man of 18 was arrested on Friday in Asnières-sur-Seine (Hauts-de-Seine).
This arrest follows the discovery last Monday of the naked body of a young woman in a street in Pontault-Combault (Seine-et-Marne).
The suspect was arrested around 12:30 p.m. at his family home where searches are planned, said the Créteil prosecutor's office, which is now leading the investigation.
He was taken into custody but has not yet been heard by investigators, said the prosecution, confirming information from the Actu 17 site.
Killed by strangulation
Discovered in a street in Pontault-Combault, the young woman would however have been killed in Plessis-Trévise in Val-de-Marne, according to the first elements of the investigation.
Also 18 years old, the young girl was from Dunkirk where she lived with her mother.
She was killed by strangulation, according to the results of the autopsy.
The investigation was entrusted to the criminal brigade of the judicial police of Versailles.
