Karlsruhe (dpa / lsw) - Coach Christian Eichner is hoping for an end to the winning streak of Karlsruher SC in the upcoming home game against Holstein Kiel on Sunday (3.30 p.m. / Sky).

"It is important to me that we win games," said the coach of the Baden team, who are sure to stay in the 2nd Bundesliga, but have not won for nine games.

After the draw at Hamburger SV (1: 1) and SpVgg Greuther Fürth (2: 2), the KSC wants to annoy the next promotion candidate - and defeat them if possible.

He and his assistants were “persistent and annoying” in the previous training units at the Schöneck sports school, so that “sharpness and focus will be available to achieve this goal,” reported Eichner on Friday.

"In the best case we try to play both games successfully in order to make a loop on last year," said the coach with a view to the remaining games against the table runner-up from Kiel and a week later at 1. FC Heidenheim.

The KSC also had to do without the offensive forces Kyoung-Rok Choi (torn muscle fiber), Benjamin Goller (tendinitis in the knee) and Marc Lorenz (capsule injury in the ankle) against Kiel.

Substitute goalkeeper Markus Kuster promised Eichner a job in the last game of the season.
