A Vietnamese woman died this Sunday from Covid-19 in Laos.
This is the first death recorded in the country as a result of this new disease, according to official media.
The death of the 53-year-old woman has been confirmed by the authorities.
The victim worked at a karaoke club in Vientiane, the capital, and had health problems, including diabetes.

A source of contamination in April
Laos seemed to have escaped the pandemic in 2020. But the country went from 49 cases of coronavirus per day in early April to 1,302 in less than a month after the discovery of a source of contamination in a village.
