Munich (dpa / lby) - Two women got stuck in a lift in Munich and were laboriously freed by the fire department.

The glass external elevator of an apartment building suddenly stopped at a very warm temperature at about ten meters, the fire brigade announced on Monday.

According to the information, the mother and her daughter notified the elevator technician, who had a long journey.

Local residents noticed the women in their plight early on Sunday evening and called the fire department.

The emergency services first opened the elevator doors on the floors above and below the elevator so that some air could get in.

Unfortunately, the elevator got stuck very unhappily, so that the fire fighters and the mechanic who had arrived in the meantime had to pull it up with a chain hoist with great effort, said a fire department spokesman.

Overall, the rescue operation in the Bogenhausen district took over two hours.

Both women were uninjured in the incident.

Only one of the two suffered a slight weakness in their predicament and had to sit down, said the spokesman.

A doctor who happened to be present later examined the woman and found that everything was okay.
