The cooperation between the regions is described, in a press release from the Kalmar Region, as a gathering of forces and as a way to avoid competition and duplication of work.

And now the hope is a quick recovery after the corona pandemic.

Increased Danish tourism throughout the year

Kalmar County Tourism Coordinator Karin Ekebjär writes in the press release that the Danish market is important for many entrepreneurs in Kalmar County and that the Danes are the county's largest international target group after the Germans.

Since the regions are geographically close to Denmark, there are good opportunities for increased Danish tourism throughout the year and not only during the classic holiday months, the press release states.

Previously, the Danish market was processed by Visit Sweden, which in 2019 closed its offices in both Denmark and Norway.
