“At the global level, we are now seeing a plateau in terms of the number of cases of COVID-19 and the number of deaths,” TASS quoted him as saying at a briefing in Geneva.
Gebreyesus noted that there is currently an "unacceptably high plateau."
"Last week there were reports of more than 5.4 million cases of the disease and almost 90 thousand deaths," added the head of the organization.
