Serial killer Michel Fourniret, hospitalized in serious condition since the end of April, died Monday afternoon at the age of 79, said the Paris prosecutor.
Serial killer Michel Fourniret, aged 79, "died Monday at 3 pm at the Interregional Secure Hospital Unit (UHSI) of Pitié-Salpétrière in Paris", announced the Paris prosecutor Rémy Heitz.
Sentenced to life for eight murders
Michel Fourniret had been hospitalized since April 28 in this unit dependent on the Fresnes penitentiary center, where he was serving two life sentences for the murders of eight people.
"An investigation was opened for 'research of the causes of death', entrusted to the 3rd district of judicial police," said the prosecutor.
