First, the school was hit by a burglary the night before Saturday when thieves stole a coffee machine and caused a water pipe to break.

Large amounts of water leaked into the room before the on-call caretaker, rescue service and police were on site.

- It contributed to devastating injuries, states Eva Åkesson and shows us around the affected rooms at the school.

Water managed to spread from the staff room to, among other things, adjoining corridors, a dining room and a library.

"The students are very disappointed"

At Runnerydsskolan, which is an F-6 school, a total of 600 students attend.

200 of them will now be allowed to eat their school meals in the classroom when, among other things, carpets are to be changed in the dining room.

- The students are very disappointed because they are very proud of their school, says Anette Lindblom, principal at Runnerydsskolan.

What do you think about the fact that you do not have any camera surveillance at school?

- It is of course sad, but we are working to get it up as soon as possible.

We have received permission, says Eva Åkesson.
