It is noted that the heads of the two states congratulated each other on the 76th anniversary of victory in the Great Patriotic War and discussed a number of issues.

"During the conversation, issues of bilateral cooperation were discussed, as well as the situation related to the recent conflict on the Kyrgyz-Tajik section of the state border," the statement said.

It is specified that the President of Russia also congratulated the people of Kyrgyzstan on the adoption and entry into force of the new Constitution of the country.

Following the talks, the parties agreed on Japarov's visit to Moscow.

Earlier, Putin held talks with the leader of Tajikistan, Emomali Rahmon.
