Dortmund / Hamm (dpa / lnw) - A train attendant was attacked by a 27-year-old passenger on the regional express from Dortmund to Hamm.

The 52-year-old railroad employee complained on Saturday that the man was wearing a simple medical mask instead of the mandatory FFP2 mask.

When the passenger replied that he did not have an FFP2 mask, the train attendant asked him to leave the train at the next stop, the police said on Monday.

The man from Gütersloh then suddenly gave the conductor a headbutt in the forehead, then slapped him in the face and hit him in the chest.

The train employee then fell and injured himself slightly.

He later broke off his service visibly shocked.

The federal police now want to evaluate the video recordings from the train.

The 27-year-old can expect criminal charges for bodily harm and trespassing as well as an administrative offense for violating the corona protection regulations.
