Marine Le Pen denounced Monday, on the occasion of the National Day of Remembrance of Trafficking, Slavery and their Abolition, forms of "modern" slavery such as "human trafficking" in the Mediterranean " encouraged under the guise of misguided humanism by NGOs "of aid to migrants.

"The trafficking of human beings organized by smugglers in the Mediterranean and encouraged under the guise of misguided humanism by NGOs funded by the European Union is part of this modern slavery", wrote in a press release the president of the National Assembly and candidate for the Elysee Palace, which calls for a moratorium on immigration.

Also part of "modern" slavery, "the conditions of life, work and social protection unworthy to which masses of workers uprooted or exploited by unscrupulous multinationals are subjected", she adds.

Marine Le Pen is pleased that "slavery as history has taught us has fortunately disappeared" and "has been recognized as a crime against humanity", but "France (...) must to fight with energy and determination "its" modern form and the resulting economic human trafficking ".

She reiterates that she wants to do this "to break with ultraliberalism and globalism".

"France does not forget this dark page," continues the far-right leader, usually very critical of the policy of "repentance" according to her Emmanuel Macron on memorial issues such as the action of France in Algeria or Rwanda.

On this occasion, she addresses her "thoughts" to her "overseas compatriots whose territories and populations have suffered from this trafficking" and tells them her "full and complete commitment to put them back at the heart of the priorities".

President Emmanuel Macron is due to preside over a ceremony in Paris on Monday for this National Day, marked this year by the 20 years of the Taubira law of 2001, which recognized slavery and trafficking as crimes against humanity.
