Hanover (dpa / lni) - Lower Saxony's state government has drawn up a law that should make deportation detention a little more humane and separate it from the penal system.

The government announced on Monday that the associations would first be heard on the law presented by the Ministry of Interior and Justice.

According to the law, detainees awaiting deportation should be given great freedom of movement and extensive visiting and contact rights, as well as being able to use leisure activities.

In addition, those detained in deportation detention are given the right to lodge a complaint.

Finally, an advisory board is planned for the deportation detention facility at Hanover Airport, which will assist in the organization of detention and support.
