"The heads of the foreign affairs agencies expressed serious concern over the aggravation of Palestinian-Israeli relations and the dangerous growth of tensions in East Jerusalem, primarily in the area of the Al-Aqsa mosque complex," the Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement.
The ministers also condemned the eviction of the Palestinians from their original area of residence - the Sheikh Jarrah quarter.
In addition, the parties "called on all parties to this conflict to show restraint and not to allow actions that threaten to further exacerbate the situation during the Muslim holy month of Ramadan."
Earlier, UN Secretary General António Guterres expressed concern over the situation in Jerusalem and called on all parties to restrain.
