At the same time as a new company enters the Jönköping market, the company that is already established in the municipality will increase its number of electric scooters.
There will thus be a substantial increase in the number of electric scooters on the streets, according to the municipality, 450 will roll around on the streets of Jönköping.
- We believe that we can handle more electric scooters than we have had.
It is difficult to know exactly where the border goes, but at the moment we have judged this border to be reasonable, but of course we need to evaluate this afterwards, says Emma Svärd, operations manager at the city planning office.
It is important to park correctly
The municipality believes that it will be clearer to sign where it is appropriate to park the electric scooters.
- Those who use electric scooters really need to show if this is something we should have in our city.
One must keep in mind that there are people with a disability who can get into trouble.
Our call is to always park the electric scooter in or next to a bike rack, says Emma Svärd.
So far, it is only in Jönköping municipality that it is possible to rent electric scooters in the municipality
