Berlin (dpa / bb) - A high concentration of carbon monoxide in a Berlin apartment building caused a larger fire service with 28 comrades on Monday.

The poisonous gas was found during a rescue operation on Erlanger Straße in Neukölln, said a spokesman for the fire brigade.

The five-story house was then cleared and ventilated.

At that time, according to the spokesman, there were only three people in the house, one of whom was taken to the hospital.

It was initially unclear where the increased concentration of carbon monoxide came from.

The network company Berlin-Brandenburg was still on site in the early evening looking for causes.
