When asked in an NHK poll whether they should or should not proceed with discussions on constitutional amendment, 54% of the respondents answered that they should proceed.

NHK conducted a poll for three days from the 7th of this month using a method called "RDD" that calls fixed-line and mobile phone numbers randomly generated by computers for people aged 18 and over nationwide.


The number of people surveyed was 2092, and 60%, or 1248, responded.

The government has decided to dilute the treated water containing radioactive substances from the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Station of Tokyo Electric Power Company to a concentration below the national standard and then release it into the sea.



When asked if they agreed or disagreed with this decision, 29% answered "agree", 22% answered "disagree", and 43% answered "neither".

A bill to amend the National Voting Law, which stipulates the procedure for amending the Constitution, was passed by the Constitutional Review Board of the House of Representatives.



When asked if they think that discussions on constitutional amendment should proceed or do not need to proceed, 54% said they should proceed, 27% said they did not need to proceed, and "I don't know, no answer". It was 19%.
