The Palestinian authorities and factions condemned the Israeli occupation forces' storming of the courtyards of Al-Aqsa Mosque this morning and their attacks on the retreat, in violent confrontations that left a large number of injuries, according to what was announced by the Palestinian Red Crescent.

The Palestinian presidency said that the brutal attacks of the occupation forces in Al-Aqsa Mosque are a new challenge to the international community.

The Palestinian Prime Minister, Muhammad Shtayyeh, warned of the consequences of the occupation forces' incursions into the Al-Aqsa Mosque.

In a statement, the Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates also called on the Security Council to provide protection to the Palestinian people, stressing that this is not a privilege or a favor, but rather a duty and a legitimate right for a people under occupation.

The Ministry condemned the continuous brutal attacks perpetrated by the occupation police around the clock against the citizens of Jerusalem, in an attempt to empty the courtyards of the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque from the Palestinians and tighten its seizure, to break the will of the young Jerusalemites who defend it.

Member of the Central Committee of the Palestinian National Liberation Movement (Fatah), Hussein Al-Sheikh, said that the Palestinian leadership is studying options to respond to the aggression on Al-Aqsa.

The head of the political bureau of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas), Ismail Haniyeh, affirmed that the resistance is ready and will not stand idly by, unless the occupation recedes and puts an end to its plans.

Hamas spokesman Sami Abu Zuhri considered that the Israeli forces' storming of the Al-Aqsa Mosque and their attacks on Palestinian worshipers is a real massacre and war crimes.

Abu Zuhri called, in a tweet on the social networking site Twitter on Monday, the Palestinian people to take to the streets and clash with the Israeli occupation, while he warned that the crimes of the occupation will have repercussions, without details.

As for the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine, it called for considering today a day of anger and escalation of the Intifada, with the aim of breaking the cordon off Jerusalem and confronting the storming of Al-Aqsa.

The Islamic Jihad movement said that the terrorist aggression in Al-Aqsa Mosque will not pass without a response from the Palestinian people, calling on Jerusalemites to be more steadfast and not to leave Al-Aqsa an easy pick for terrorist settlers.

The Islamic Jihad denounced in the strongest terms the continued security coordination between the Palestinian Authority and the occupation forces, explaining that this coordination left a deep wound in the side of Al-Aqsa Mosque and its defenders.

This morning, the Israeli occupation forces stormed Al-Aqsa Mosque, using rubber bullets, stun grenades and tear gas, and wounded more than 215 Palestinians, including paramedics, according to a statement by the Palestine Red Crescent Society.

Since the beginning of Ramadan, the city of Jerusalem has witnessed attacks by the Israeli police forces and settlers in the Bab al-Amud area, the Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood, and the vicinity of the Al-Aqsa Mosque.
