Weingarten (dpa / lsw) - A man was critically injured in a car accident near Weingarten (Ravensburg district).
A police spokeswoman said the 22-year-old went off the road in a curve on the 317 road with his pickup truck on Monday and crashed into a tree.
The vehicle caught fire immediately.
The driver was stuck in the car for more than ten minutes until the fire department freed him.
He was taken to a hospital in an ambulance.
During the recovery, the L317 remained completely closed until late afternoon.
The cause of the accident initially remained unclear.
