During the past week, about 10,000 covid tests were taken and of these, about 12 percent were positive.

- It is a lower level than a few weeks ago when the figure was 14-15 percent.

But we are above the national average, which is just over ten percent, Malin Begnér told the region's press conference on Monday.

And the infection rate remains high in Jönköping County.

- There is an extensive spread of infection here compared to many other regions in the country, but also internationally, says Malin Bengnér.

A patient from another county receives IVA care

In healthcare, the number of covid patients receiving hospital care has been around 50 in recent days.

At present, twelve patients receive intensive care at hospitals in the county, but no one receives IVA care in another region.

- However, we have four patients who are receiving aftercare in another county right now.

Then we have a patient from another region who receives intensive care with us, that's how we try to help each other when we have the opportunity, said Mats Bojestig, health and medical care director in the Jönköping Region.

How it will be with the summer staffing and whether holidays need to be moved is unclear right now.

- We will come back to that.

We are working on the issue now, but it is difficult to assess what the needs will look like this summer, says Mats Bojestig.

High pressure on the vaccination booking

Vaccinations in the county are tough and so far 155,000 doses have been given.

121,000 people have received dose 1, which is 42 percent of the population in the county over 18 years.

34,000 people have received two doses.

Vaccination coordinator Jonas Almgren told at today's press conference that a large proportion of the vaccine doses delivered to the county right now go to the people who will receive their second dose.

Therefore, it is a bit slower when it comes to vaccinating the groups under the 55-59-year-olds in phase 4.

- The group 50-54 years thinks we should be able to start booking appointments at the end of week 21. As for the group 40-49 years, we think they should be able to start booking times at the end of week 23, says Jonas Almgren.
