May 10, 2021 Defeat in the Supreme Court for the pharmaceutical giant Bayer sentenced to compensate the health damage caused by his anti-cholesterol drug Lipobay to a Venetian doctor who in 1999 had started taking the product and then developed serious problems with muscles and breathing, with consequent hospitalizations . The drug was voluntarily withdrawn from the market in 2001.



The compensation amount is not known. The 'stoats' excluded that the leaflet was sufficiently clear to inform about the risks associated with taking the drug defined as "harmful and defective".
