Munich (dpa) - Leon Goretzka is out for the rest of the Bundesliga season due to a thigh injury and arouses concerns about the start of the European Football Championship.
The Bayern national player suffered a torn muscle fiber in his left thigh in the 6-0 win against Borussia Mönchengladbach on Saturday, as the record champions announced on Monday.
The "kicker" reported about it on Sunday.
Bayern only announced in the brief statement that the midfielder would be absent for the remaining league games.
There was no forecast as to whether national coach Joachim Löw can count on the 26-year-old for the European Championship and the opening game against France on June 15.
According to "Kicker" it will be a race against time.
