A baby minke whale got stuck in one of the locks on the Thames in London. The cetacean was noticed by some passersby who called for help and veterinarians.

Attempts have been made to fill the locks with water in order to allow the cetacean to free itself autonomously. Later, with the joint efforts of firefighters and divers, it was possible to free the whale and move it to a closed water basin for in-depth examinations and to evaluate the possibility of releasing it into the natural environment.

It is a 4-meter-long cub of the minke whale species, capable of reaching a length of 10 meters.
