Dresden (dpa / sn) - The Saxon AfD wants to distinguish itself as a party for the whole family.

The focus of the amendments for the dual budget of the Free State is on family-friendly politics, said party and parliamentary group leader Jörg Urban on Monday in Dresden.

One of the major challenges for Saxony is still the low birth rate.

"Unfortunately, we are far from being a family-friendly country."

Urban summarized his party's considerations in a 13-point plan.

In it, the AfD proposes a baby welcome allowance of 5000 euros from the third child, and the state education allowance should be more attractive.

A free preschool year is planned for kindergartens, and a free breakfast is to be provided at elementary and special schools.

In addition, more money than previously planned is intended for music schools.

In order to improve the care of relatives in need, the AfD wants to introduce a state care subsidy of 150 to 300 euros, depending on the care level.

Another point concerns the increase in the state allowance for the blind from 350 to 450 euros per month.

The AfD sees potential savings not least in personnel costs. When it comes to increasing the number of jobs, the party does not want to cut back on teachers and police officers. You need a kind of general inventory, said AfD financial expert André Barth. It should not only be a question of discussing the number of positions, but a fundamental criticism of the task is necessary. A study commission is to be convened for this purpose. The AfD also sees potential for savings in the area of political education.

Overall, the AfD wants to introduce around 270 amendments to the double budget.

According to Barth, they have "calculated in minute detail" how the proposals can be financed: "If the Free State of Saxony concentrates on its core tasks, dispenses with nonsensical project financing and dismantles existing double structures, it can be very generous to all citizens."
