The slots have been open since 10 a.m. on Monday and should quickly find takers.

Tuesday evening, for the first time, the vaccination center of the Palais des Sports de Gerland in Lyon will be open from 8 p.m. to midnight.

An "exceptional" night according to the HCL who plan to vaccinate 600 people during this evening.

To register, people eligible for vaccination can make an appointment via Doctolib.

This evening is part of "the rise of anti-covid vaccination in France", recalls the Lyon University Hospital on Monday.

A boost made possible by deliveries of Pfizer vaccines, which should increase further in the coming days.

After a more than slow start to the vaccination campaign, the CHU, which has increased the pace for a month, plans to perform 30,000 injections per week in its six dedicated centers in the metropolis, more than half of which in Gerland.

No bridge for vaccination

During this weekend of May 8-9, the center of the Sports Palace of Gerland experimented with an operation allowing 2,300 vaccinations / day (16,000 per week).

"The experiment having been a success thanks to the mobilization of all the partners, this operation becomes sustainable from this Monday, May 10", underline the HCL.

In addition, the five other centers managed by the CHU will operate this week at their maximum rate to be able to provide 12,500 injections over a week.

This Thursday, public holiday, as well as the four days of the "bridge", the six centers will operate normally, at the usual times.

Since Monday, vaccination against Covid-19 has been open to people over 50 years old.

In the Rhône, nearly 24% of the population received a first injection and 11.5% two doses, slightly less than at the national level.
