Cottbus (dpa / bb) - The Verdi services union wants to report on the collective bargaining negotiations with the carriers of nine Brandenburg hospitals and several care facilities at an online press conference on Monday.

The union wants to introduce the public service collective agreement (TVöD) for 6,500 employees or at least adjust the collective agreements in order to keep the nursing staff in Brandenburg, as Verdi negotiator Ralf Franke explained in advance.

Because of the poor working conditions, many nursing staff in Brandenburg turned their backs on hospitals and care facilities, said Franke.

"It cannot be that the Berlin hospitals bait the Brandenburg nursing staff with the TVöD," he warned.

"And the Brandenburg hospitals, which do not have a TVöD, then fly in workers from Asia in order to be able to maintain care in our country at all."
