Gelsenkirchen (AP) - Long-time CFO Peter Peters failed with his candidacy for the supervisory board of the Bundesliga soccer club FC Schalke 04.

The 58-year-old is not on the list of ten candidates for the election of the five new members of the board that the Revierclub announced on Sunday.

The candidates were admitted to the vote by the election committee.

The election will take place on June 13th at the club's general meeting.

Peters is Vice President of the German Football Association and joined the council of the world association FIFA in April.

At FC Schalke he was CFO for 27 years and is held by some to be responsible for the downfall of the traditional club.

Also not on the list of candidates is the former Schalke professional Hans Sarpei, who also wanted to run for the board.
