The telephone conversation between Putin and Lukashenko took place on Sunday, May 9.

“The heads of state exchanged warm congratulations on the 76th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War, stressed that our countries sacredly honor the memory of the heroes who fought valiantly at the front and selflessly worked in the rear,” the Kremlin press service said.

It is noted that a number of topical issues of the bilateral agenda were touched upon and the mutual disposition to consistently strengthen the Russian-Belarusian relations of partnership and alliance was confirmed.

Earlier it was reported that Lukashenka in his congratulatory message to Putin noted the special significance of the Victory Day for Russians and Belarusians.
