Hamburg (dpa) - The raw materials boom of the past few months has also driven the copper group Aurubis in its second quarter of the fiscal year.

Adjusted for metal price fluctuations, the operating result before taxes rose by 72 percent to 103 million euros, as the company announced on Monday in Hamburg.

The group result increased by the same amount to 79 million euros.

Sales increased by 23 percent to just under 4.1 billion euros.

Aurubis benefited from a sharp rise in demand and higher metal prices between January and March.

The annual forecast for 2020/21 (as of the end of September) was confirmed.
