Chemnitz (AP) - The Niners Chemnitz have ended their premiere season in the basketball league with a defeat.
Coach Rodrigo Pastore's team lost to Alba Berlin on Sunday with 81:91 (46:54).
In the final table, the Saxons, who had secured their place in the class early, came 14th.
The best throwers were Captain Malte Ziegenhagen with 19 points and Jonas Richter (18).
The Chemnitz team fell behind in the sportingly insignificant game after a 3-2 lead, but could not be shaken off at first.
It wasn't until the end of the third quarter that the Niners were clearly behind with an intermediate score of 50:69.
The Pastore team struggled a little back in the final section, but Alba always had an answer and easily brought home the victory.
