Rostock (dpa / mv) - The corona incidence in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania fell further on Sunday and was below the critical value of 100 for the fourth day in a row. The State Office for Health and Social Affairs (Lagus) in Rostock reported a seven-day period -Incidence from 87 to 88 on Saturday.

On Friday this value was 91, on Thursday it slipped below 100 for the first time in several weeks.

It describes the number of new corona infections per 100,000 inhabitants within seven days.

The Lagus reported 148 confirmed new infections with the corona virus on Saturday and 54 on Sunday.

That was 82 less on Saturday than a week ago and on Sunday (as of 3:26 p.m.) 34 less than a week ago.

Three other people died of coronavirus infection over the weekend - two on Saturday and one on Sunday.

The total number of corona deaths in the country rose to 1044.

At 138.4, the seven-day incidence is currently highest in the Ludwigslust-Parchim district.

In the other regions of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, this important value is between 40.9 (district of Western Pomerania-Rügen) and 113.5 (district of Mecklenburg Lake District).

According to the office, the total number of corona infections so far detected in MV is 42,017. 37,664 people are considered recovered.

In clinics, 268 people were treated unchanged on Sunday.

The number of corona patients in intensive care units also remained at 74. New vaccination numbers were not published over the weekend.

According to Lagus, 33.9 percent of the population in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania had been vaccinated at least once by Friday.

8.1 percent already have full vaccination protection after two injections.
