The weekly "Valeurs Actuelles" published a new military column on Sunday evening.

The signatories are concerned about the state of France and support the retired generals who signed a first text on April 21.

ANALYSIS

Fifteen days after a controversial first text, a new military forum comes to put Emmanuel Macron under pressure. Sunday evening, the weekly

Valeurs Actuelles

published a column "for the survival of our country", this time launched by active soldiers, and open for signatures. And the tone is very harsh against the President of the Republic and the staffs. Internally, we are busy trying to identify the authors, but this research is for the moment a failure.

Basically, two axes are to be retained.

First of all, the forum gives full support to the retired generals who signed the first text.

While the executive had decided to sanction all the signatory generals, the reaction is very clear in the new forum.

"These people who fought against all the enemies of France, you have treated them as factious when their only fault is to love their country and to mourn its visible downfall", write the authors.

Active soldiers

Second axis of the text: the same very explicit observation on the state of the country.

"We see violence in our towns and villages. We see communitarianism settling in the public space, in the public debate", it is written.

And the authors conclude: "Yes, if a civil war breaks out, the army will maintain order on its own soil, because it will be asked to do so."

It should also be noted that this time, it is not retirees who speak, but active soldiers, that is to say in office.

But these soldiers are, however, in theory, subject to the duty of reserve, which adds to the explosive nature of the text.

How do you react at the top of the state?

The DRSD, the internal intelligence service of the armed forces, has been working day and night since the beginning of last week to try to identify the authors of the text, but without success. It is now up to Emmanuel Macron himself to decide if he sanctions the signatories, at the risk of provoking a political crisis, or if he decides to pass in the towel.
