Then the father is said to have killed his son and daughter.
The 37-year-old man admitted the act before the regional court in Regensburg.
The prosecution charges him with two murders.
The pleadings are to be held today, Monday.
The verdict is expected on May 12th.
The public prosecutor accuses the German Serb of having killed his six-year-old daughter and eight-year-old son in May 2020 “out of selfish will to power and property”.
With her death, he wanted to prevent the children from growing up with his ex-girlfriend and her partner.
At the beginning of the trial, the father had said through his lawyer: "I know that I deserve a long prison sentence."
He couldn't forgive himself.
After the crime in Schwarzach, Lower Bavaria, the man first tried to kill himself and turned himself in to the police.
