Dortmund (dpa) - According to a report by "Ruhr Nachrichten", Borussia Dortmund will have to do without Marwin Hitz in the DFB Cup final on Thursday (8.45pm) against RB Leipzig.

As the newspaper reported on Sunday, the Bundesliga club's goalkeeper was diagnosed with a knee injury during an MRI scan.

Accordingly, the season for the 33-year-old Swiss would have ended prematurely.

The club has not yet confirmed this injury.

Hitz was replaced by his compatriot Roman Bürki in the second half of the Bundesliga game against Leipzig (3-2).

In contrast, BVB can hope for a comeback from Erling Haaland.

According to coach Edin Terzic, the Norwegian striker, who was absent from the last two games against Kiel (5-0) and Leipzig due to a thigh injury, is making health progress.

“A lot of fluid has built up and this fluid has repeatedly led to pain.

But we notice that the liquid is getting less and less », said Terzic.

"We hope that he can come back to team training early or in the middle of next week and then be an option for the cup final."
