Wang Yi said that Suriname was among the first Caribbean countries to establish diplomatic relations with New China. May 28 will usher in the 45th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries.
Over the past 45 years, China and the Soviet Union have always understood and supported each other. They are a model of equal treatment and friendly coexistence between large and small countries.
China appreciates the Sudan’s adherence to the one-China principle and its firm standing with China on issues involving China’s core interests and major concerns.
Wang Yi said that from a new historical starting point, China is willing to promote traditional friendship with the Soviet side, strengthen policy alignment, and enhance political mutual trust.
Chinese President Xi Jinping and Surinamese President Dan Duoji exchanged letters and telegrams. China is willing to maintain exchanges with the Soviet side at all levels and initiate consultations between the foreign ministries as soon as possible.
The two countries have signed a memorandum of understanding and cooperation plan for jointly building the "Belt and Road". They should deepen cooperation in infrastructure construction, communications and other fields, actively explore energy development, and help the Soviet Union's economic recovery and transformation.
China is willing to strengthen cooperation with the Soviet side in the fight against the epidemic and jointly defeat the new crown epidemic.
The two countries should strengthen solidarity and cooperation in international and regional affairs, and safeguard multilateralism and the common interests of developing countries.

Ramuddin warmly congratulated China on its achievements in economic and social development and emphasized that the one-China policy is the cornerstone of Soviet-Chinese relations.
