Baden-Baden (dpa / lsw) - Because of the defusing of three bombs from the Second World War, hundreds of people in Baden-Baden today have to clear the area around a green area.

According to the city, 1,600 people are affected.

They should leave their apartments and houses by 8 a.m. at the latest.

Then the ordnance disposal service in Baden-Württemberg is supposed to take care of the 250 kilogram explosive devices.

The area will be evacuated within a radius of around 300 meters around the sites.

The park is in an area that was bombed by Americans during the war.

As a precautionary measure, the city had had the area checked for duds due to pending ground work.

Four "critical points" were identified, which a specialist company had gradually uncovered.

At one point, however, the experts only found a steel pipe instead of a bomb, which was probably once connected to a pump.
