What is a mother?

It's the one who would rather go hungry and cold before letting his children eat and wear warmth.

Some mothers fed milk to other people's children, and only fed soup to their newborn children. Some mothers gave up their lives before they could say goodbye to their children who were waiting to be fed...

On September 28, 2015, at the United Nations Headquarters in New York, Xi Jinping, who attended the United Nations Peacekeeping Summit, told people a moving story of a young Chinese mother who gave her great love selflessly.

"The Chinese peacekeeping policewoman and Zhihong tragically died during the UN peacekeeping mission in Haiti, leaving behind a 4-year-old son and parents who are more than sixty years old. She once wrote: In the world, I may be just a feather, but I am also To carry the wish of peace in the form of feathers. This is her wish during her lifetime and China's commitment to peace."

Like He Zhihong, in all historical stages of China's revolution, construction, and reforms, brave women and heroic mothers have made outstanding contributions and made great sacrifices, composing songs of heroic triumphs that moved heaven and earth.

Xi Jinping has repeatedly told the touching stories of the heroic mother.

"In the red land of Yimeng, countless heroic sons and daughters were born. The deeds of the six Yimeng sisters, the Yimeng mother, and the Yimeng Hongsao are very touching." General Secretary Xi Jinping said affectionately.

On November 25, 2013, when Xi Jinping visited Linyi, the old revolutionary district in Yimeng, Shandong, he made a special trip to the East China Revolutionary Martyrs Cemetery, presented a flower basket to the Revolutionary Martyrs Memorial Tower and visited the Yimeng Spirit Exhibition.

From 1938 to 1949, the people of Yimeng made great sacrifices and dedication to the victory of the Chinese revolution, and countless heroic deeds and exemplary figures emerged.

Wang Huanyu, known as the "Mother Yimeng", joined the Communist Party of China during the War of Resistance Against Japan and led his family to participate in the revolution.

In the difficult environment of the war, the children of the Eighth Route Army cadres were very thin.

With the support of the party organization, Wang Huanyu established a nursery school during the war to provoke the burden of raising and caring for the children of war soldiers.

From the autumn of 1939 to the end of 1942, more than 40 children in the nursery during the war grew up healthy.

After 1943, Wang Huanyu raised the children of 45 revolutionary soldiers.

Wang replaced his four grandsons, but they died of malnutrition and poor care.

She is a selfless mother of great love and a hero who serves the country faithfully.

"A mother named Deng Yufen in Miyun County, Beijing, sent her husband and 5 children to the front line, and they all died in battle." On July 7, 2014, he attended the ceremony to commemorate the seventy-seventh anniversary of the outbreak of the Anti-Japanese War. In an important speech, General Secretary Xi Jinping told the story of the heroic mother Deng Yufen.

In April 1940, Deng Yufen sent his three sons to the front line of the War of Resistance against Japan. He sewed military shoes at home and took care of the wounded of the Eighth Route Army.

Deng Yufen's fourth and fifth sons also participated in the anti-Japanese militia team to deal with the Japanese invaders.

However, one by one, the bad news came. Deng Yufen's husband, Si'er, and Wu'er were unfortunately killed...

In order to fight against the Japanese invaders, Deng Yufen's six relatives died, but she gritted her teeth.

Deng Yufen's home became the residence of the Eighth Route Army and the wounded. She regarded the soldiers as her own sons, boiled water and cooked for the Eighth Route Army, sewed clothes, and fed soup and medicine to the wounded.

The soldiers knew that there was a home in Zhutouling, Miyun, with a firm and kind-hearted mother Deng.

She gave her home to everyone and brought reunion to more people.

"I once again read some family letters from the War of Resistance Against Japan, which is indeed very touching." When presiding over the study of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee, General Secretary Xi Jinping shared a touching family letter——

"Zhao Yiman wrote in his suicide note before his death: "Because my mother resolutely fought against Manchuria, it is now the eve of sacrifice. Mother and you will never have the chance to see you again before you die... My dearest child! Mother does not need a thousand words to educate you, but practice to educate you. After you grow up, I hope you will not forget that your mother sacrificed for the country... After the mother died, my The child should continue to fight in place of his mother, grow up by himself, to comfort the mother under Jiuquan!" "Every word, the general secretary is full of affection.

After the "September 18th" Incident, Zhao Yiman was sent to the Northeast to launch the anti-Japanese struggle.

In November 1935, Zhao Yiman was seriously injured in order to cover the troops and was discovered by the Japanese army while he was recovering.

Faced with the torture of the Japanese army, Zhao Yiman was unyielding and denounced the Japanese army's crime of aggression.

On August 2, 1936, Zhao Yiman was killed by the enemy in Zhuhe, Heilongjiang.

Before she was sentenced, she chanted "Down with Japanese imperialism!" "Long live the Chinese Communist Party!" She regarded death as home and calmly gave up righteousness. She was only 31 years old.

She stood up in times of crisis and dedicated herself to national liberation.

A promising nation cannot be without heroes, and a promising country cannot be without pioneers.

The heroic mother, with a feeling of "the rise and fall of the world, and everyone is responsible", in times of crisis, "responsible for the country with one's own body, and loyal to serve the country."

Their heroism is passed on from generation to generation.
