In 1954, the sailing ship Svanhild was found floating up and down on Åland water.

Five people disappeared without a trace - two of them were from Öregrund.

And just a few weeks before the sinking, the ship had been at shipyard in the small port town.

Now the memories of what happened almost 70 years ago have been brought to life again when the new Gräsöfärjan is the name of the old accident ship.

- I do not think it was known that this accident ship existed when the ferry was christened in the 1980s, explains Robert Eriksson, district manager at the ferry company at the Swedish Transport Administration.
