On May 9th, the national hybrid rice double-cropping project with a yield of 3000 jin per mu was harvested for the first time in Sanya, and the yield of early-planting rice was 1004.83 kg per mu.

In December 2020, the national hybrid rice double-season yield of 3000 jin per mu project was launched in Sanya.

Hainan Province has set up 6 demonstration test sites in Haikou, Sanya and other places.

The demonstration site in Sanya Haitang Bay Rice National Park took the lead in harvesting early-growing rice.

This batch of "Super Youqian" rice will be sown on December 16, 2020 and transplanted on January 13, 2021. The planting density is 20cm* (20cm+30cm).

Finally, it was determined that the first type of field was 1014.56 kg/mu, the second type of land was 1009.45 kg/mu, and the third type of land was 990.48 kg/mu, with an average of 1004.83 kg/mu.

Because of the high environmental temperature and the relatively short growth period of rice, the rice grown in Hainan is not known for high yields.

Xie Huaan, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and a researcher at the Fujian Academy of Agricultural Sciences, said that if Hainan achieves its goal of 3,000 jin in two seasons, it will create a high-yield, high-efficiency production model.
