Cologne / Bonn (dpa / lnw) - The expected summer weather with temperatures of up to 28 degrees is likely to pull many people outside throughout North Rhine-Westphalia today.

In many places, regulatory agencies will again check whether the corona rules are being adhered to.

Cities such as Cologne, Aachen and Bonn report that there should not be any special focus campaigns with additional workers.

Vaccination cards should be checked “depending on the situation” if, for example, larger groups are encountered.

From Sunday, extensive relaxation will apply to those who have been completely vaccinated and those who have recovered.

Among other things, they no longer have to adhere to the contact and exit restrictions.

A city spokesman announced that all available security and service staff should be on duty in Düsseldorf.

Together with the police, there will be double patrols in the heavily frequented old town area to check the mask requirement there.

The large flight of stairs on the Rhine remains locked.

The regulatory office in Aachen wants to monitor compliance with the corona rules in public places, in parks and green areas, "as far as possible".

"In any group gatherings, the presence of vaccination records or other necessary certificates can be checked," said a spokesman.

In Cologne, the public order office wants to address people who are out in the evening after the curfew, as before.

In specific suspected cases, the personal details would be recorded - and thus the vaccination certificate will be checked in the future if it is presented, said the head of the crisis team, Andrea Blome.

"But during the day, the employees won't ask entire groups whether they have a vaccination status or not."

The Cologne police are also not planning any additional controls.
