Magdeburg (dpa / sa) - In Saxony-Anhalt, the number of new corona infections per 100,000 inhabitants and week has continued to decrease slightly.

The Robert Koch Institute (RKI) reported a seven-day incidence of 122.1 on Sunday, down from 123.3 on Saturday and 128.9 on Friday.

According to the information, 310 new infections and another death related to the virus were reported within 24 hours.

12 656 new cases were recorded nationwide.

The seven-day value continued to decline significantly to 118.6.

On Saturday it was 121.5 and on Friday it was 125.7.

In Magdeburg, the federal emergency brake fell on Sunday - there the seven-day value had already been below the 100 mark five days in a row. After Saturday (68.8), the RKI again showed a comparatively low seven-day value of 59.8 for the state capital on Sunday. The nightly exit restrictions have now been removed there, significantly more people are allowed to meet again and the outdoor catering is allowed to reopen. However, guests need a negative corona test if they are not fully vaccinated or have demonstrably recovered. From Monday onwards, shopping in retail will be possible again - with an appointment, but without a test.

In addition to Magdeburg, the Jerichower Land with 94.9 and the Anhalt-Bitterfeld district with 97.2 were below the threshold of 100 new infections per 100,000 inhabitants and seven days.

In order to be able to release the federal emergency brake, the circles must be below the value 100 for five days in a row, Sunday does not count.

The RKI reported the highest incidences in Saxony-Anhalt on Sunday for the Burgenland district with 172.2, the Salzland district (152.8) and the Mansfeld-Südharz district (150.4).
