Wernigerode / Magdeburg (dpa / sa) - The mini-summer lured people in Saxony-Anhalt outside on Sunday.

Whether by bike in the countryside, in hiking boots on the Brocken or on a paddle tour, people could enjoy the sunny interlude with around 25 degrees.

On Sunday there was a constant coming and going on the Brocken.

A ranger estimated that more people were tackling the ascent than in the past few weeks - among them was the record hiker Benno Schmidt (88), known as "Brocken-Benno".

In glorious sunshine, hikers had the best view from the Brocken summit with around 100 kilometers to the potash works in Zielitz.

At around 15 degrees, however, it was stormy.

In Magdeburg and elsewhere in the country, many people got on their bikes and went on a tour.

Paddlers were also on the way.

The summer weather should come to an end in the coming days.
