Unlingen (dpa / lsw) - A pensioner lay down on a conveyor belt in a gravel pit in the Biberach district and was jammed when the workers put the belt back into operation in the morning.
The workers found on Saturday morning that no gravel ran into the mixing tower, the police said on Sunday.
When looking for the cause, they found the 85-year-old trapped on the tape.
The fire brigade freed the man who got away with minor injuries and a horror.
He was taken to a hospital.
The man was suffering from dementia.
"Sleep on the conveyor belt could have ended fatally," it said.
