Wolfsburg (AP) - Wolfsburg's goal scorer Wout Weghorst can now hope to participate in the European Football Championship.
After the striker had not been nominated for the international matches of the Netherlands in the World Cup qualifiers in March and had publicly expressed his disappointment, Bondscoach Frank den Boer Weghorst encouraged him.
“He's really in good shape.
It looks good for him, ”said de Boer on Sunday on the Dutch TV channel ESPN NL.
The decision has not yet been made, but the 28-year-old attacker is a serious option.

Weghorst has scored 20 goals in the current season.
Weghorst could benefit from the fact that 26 professionals can be nominated for the squad at the pan-European EM from June 11 to July 11, instead of the usual 23.
De Boer plans to publish its preliminary roster on Friday.
The Netherlands will meet Ukraine, Austria and North Macedonia in their preliminary group in Amsterdam.
