Hamburg (dpa / lno) - Hamburg sports clubs can now submit concepts for model projects in sport to the Hamburger Sportbund (HSB).

After the incidence in the Hanseatic city was recently below 100 new corona infections per 100,000 inhabitants for several days, a first opening step could probably be taken from next Wednesday, announced the HSB and the sports authority on Sunday.

In addition to initial relaxation in sport, in a second step, model projects for a further opening up of club operations would also be possible in the future.

The aim of the projects is to document the extent to which organized sports can be practiced in clubs under strict conditions under pandemic conditions.

According to the information, every club that is a member of HSB can submit a corresponding concept by May 21st. After the examination, the sports association can propose up to five concepts. The selection and approval is then carried out by the sports authority with the consent of the authority responsible for health and the Senate Chancellery. The number of model projects is initially limited to a maximum of three.

For a model project, among other things, a specific protection concept must be submitted and the contact details of all athletes participating in the relevant offers and courses must be recorded.

Both outdoor sports with up to 30 people plus two supervisors and indoor sports with up to 20 people can be approved.

This also includes fitness offers or swimming courses in the club's own indoor swimming pool.

All model projects are initially limited to a maximum of four weeks.
