Hamburg (dpa / lno) - During loading work in the Port of Hamburg in Hamburg-Altenwerder, two containers with dangerous goods were badly damaged.

The fire brigade was therefore in action at the container terminal with changing crews since early Saturday morning, as a spokesman for the German press agency said.

Up to 50 workers were on site at the same time.

For an initially unexplained cause, according to the information, a 20-foot container was torn from a loading bridge during the night and fell onto the two other containers with dangerous goods.

These are said to contain chemicals that are hazardous to health.

The fire brigade was there on Saturday morning in protective suits to retrieve the containers.
