Berlin (dpa) - Federal Justice Minister Christine Lambrecht warns against forging vaccination cards or using forged documents in view of the easing for corona vaccinated and convalescent people.

"Anyone who does this exposes others to the risk of serious illness and prevents an effective fight against the pandemic," said the SPD politician of "Welt am Sonntag".

"This is not a trivial offense, but an offense that can be punished with a heavy fine or imprisonment."

This applies not only to the forgers, but also to those who use the forged documents.

"Even anyone who pretends to be someone else's real document is liable to prosecution," she warned.

«I am sure that this is being looked at closely.

Anyone who deceives is discovered faster than he thinks and risks criminal proceedings. "

Lambrecht said that the planned digital vaccination certificate had to come “as soon as possible” with a view to the upcoming holiday season.

"We have to ensure that the transfer of falsified vaccination records to the electronic certificate is prevented and that the offenses are reported."

According to her, the release for the transmission should therefore be given where the vaccination was also carried out.

For people who have been completely vaccinated against Corona and people who have demonstrably already gone through an infection, significant restrictions nationwide have been lifted since this Sunday.

You can meet other people again without restriction and no longer have to observe night exit restrictions that were imposed due to the so-called federal emergency brake.

In addition, those who have recovered and who have been vaccinated no longer need a negative test for shopping or visits to the hairdresser.

Evidence of vaccination or a positive PCR test that is no longer than six months old is sufficient as evidence of a past infection.
